we have done all tests. no cause. anyone had it this long with possitive out come? can’t relieve stress, bell’s is causing more stress! dr. are less informed than us.( please do not answer if you have not had serious bell’s.) less than 90% degeneration of nerve. moderate eng or enog. severe headache and dizziness. considering contraversial decompession surgery. recomendations? afraid of continued down slide. (disability. doctor phobia.) would prefer natural remidies with proven studies. anyone informed? please help my family?! dr says pain may never dissapear? true?

Nerves twitching; I’m scared.what could it be?

Bell Palsy
Ronnie M

I came down with Bell’s Palsy about three and a half weeks ago….I seem to be improving fine, but I am afraid….every once in a while these nerves in my body twitch, other than in my face…many times in my thighs and upper leg…

I had an MRI done, and my neurologist told me it was only Bell’s Palsy..but I am a little afraid that the Bell’s may be an indicator of something worse.

I don’t have pain or anything, just the weird twitching. And it is only every once in a while. I took a the steroid Prednisone and the antiviral Acyclovir about three weeks ago , for the first week. They then put me on Lexapro to relieve the depression and anxiety, but I quit on Saturday cause I don’t think I need it. Could these be withdrawal symptoms? I have also been using Lunesta to sleep for the last few days.

And lastly, I went to the gym on Saturday, and worked out legs…could the twitching in my legs be related to this?

I’m going back to the neurologist in two weeks….

Bell’s Palsy Again?

Bell Palsy
blondgurl_05

Well…I had Bell’s Palsy(left side of my face) in August and the other day I started getting Bell’s Palsy symptoms again. Two nights before, I went swimming and got water in my ear and the next day I had a horrible ear ache and my tongue felt numb and tingly. The next morning I began noticing that I was able to move the left side of my face just not as well as I normally do. Now, its four days later and it hasn’t gotten too much worse. I am still able to move my face slightly and the last time I had Bell’s Palsy I couldn’t move my face at all. Has anyone else had Bell’s Palsy but could still move your face slightly or experienced anything like this?

I have been to the doctor and had to have an MRI but I haven/t heard anything back yet.
Can I expect it to last as long…longer…shorter??

It is still kinda of numb and heavy feeling. i have made an appt. with my Dr. so I’ll be seeing him but I just wonder if this has happened to any one else. I see a neurologist and he said my MRI was normal could an MRI change in like 3 months? I have no clue. Its just weird that my face feels this way. I have gotten every comment from a stroke which it wasn’t to bells palsy, which it could be or even still ms. I am worried can some one give me some in site?

2 months of throat pain and no answers?

Bell Palsy

I was diagnosed with a mild case of bells palsy about 8 mos ago but am pretty much recovered to the untrained eye. mri was clear other than bilateral sinusitis. more recently, starting 2 mo ago, i had painful swallowing with a sensation of a lump in my throat. i went to an ent who tested for allergies and scoped me- both clear. i went back a month later because i saw a white-head-looking sore on my tonsil. it was gone the next day when the ent scoped me again and still said all clear. blood work revealed blood sugar level of 60 (slightly low) and slightly low thyroid function. i’m terrified this is cancer and everybody is dismissing my symptoms. i’m a 30 yr old female. 5’2″ 108lbs.

and an MRI, I am EXTREMELY clostrophobic, and I also am afraid of needles! I was wondering if anyone had any advice from experience that could tell me what happens,(how do they take blood, do a nerve test and an MRI) I have never had any of these things done before so I am really nervous (my face is paralized on both sides) I looked on the web and it said that bells palsy can affect both sides of the face and it is called bilateral bells palsy, it also said that bilateral facial palsy is rare accounting for less than 1% of cases. Has anyone else ever had it on both sides of their face before and if so how long did it take to go away, did you fully recover ect. Thanks.

ps. I am only 15 years old.

what is BOTOX? how & why is it used when a blood vessel is impinging on a nerve? (not cosmetic but medical)?

Bell Palsy

suppose an artery is applying pressure on the facial nerve.. leading to Bell’s palsy, & this is detected on MRI;

why does the treatment involve injecting BOTOX near the zygomatico-temporal (upper face) area? what does botox actually do here? where exactly should it be injected?

Is headaches and sinus issues normal after being diagnosed 6 months ago with bells palsy?

Bell Palsy

My husband was diagnosed with bells palsy in march. we have been through the ringer with this. It started as one thing and even went to being a brain tumor. His last MRI was clear. He has left leg numbness due to buldging and herniated disks. He had began to feel better but lately he has had headaches and his sinues are messed all up. Has anyone else experienced this with bells palsy? Does anyone have any information that they could share on this matter?
