About a year ago I kept “clicking” my jaw one day and I heard and felt a big snap near the right side of my cheekbone closest to my ear, it felt as if it came from my ear. Anyway it hurt slightly a bit but then it felt completely fine. A few days later, I felt some pain from that area but I thought it’d go away on its own…about a week later after that, I had “facial palsy” on that side of my face. Although I’m not entirely sure it was bell’s palsy, I just called my aunt and described the conditions and she’s a physician and she put me on the usual prescribed steroids/anti viral medication…but I could move my right eyebrow and blink/close my eyes, just not any of the other muscles on that side, which is why I didn’t think it was facial palsy because the entire side is supposed to be paralyzed…well a few months later it “went away”, but it didn’t heal completely…and the muscle under my chin in that area feels stiff/painful when I wake up from time to time. I just kinda want someone to see whats going on, if there’s a sprained muscle or a broken bone in my face or in my ear or whatever….so reading this does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of doctor I should see? I was thinking ear/nose/throat since that’s the area that kinda messed up but I also thought of maybe a chiropractor since they specialize in muscles/cartilage? Maybe I should see the ear/nose/throat and if they can’t help me find a craniofacial surgeon specialist (just to tell me what’s going on?) I really don’t know..
I had a pretty bad case of bells palsy and thankfully its gone now… But while I had it I had to take acyclovir and when I was off it i noticed that that 3 birthmarks on my arm were completely gone, like they were never there. I was very fond of them… I mean Ive had them forever! did the medication have something to do with this?
i read some info about it but they all say the same, it’s not a threatening-life disease but there are no medication that could cure it.
I know that I have bells palsy. I just haven’t seen a doctor for it because I don’t have health insurance. I have all of the symptoms for it and I know how I got it. I cant afford the office visit or the medication they’d prescribe me. So Im wondering can this clear up on its own without medication???
I have a mild case, and my doctor said it should be gone before August. I also just found out I have lyme disease. do you think both will be gone before August? Im going on a cruise. also Im taking medication for the lyme and steroids to help with the BP.
I am currently having a third onset of Bell’s Palsy. This time I am pregnant so I can’t take medication. I am currently trying out accupuncture. Is there anything else I can do?
