BELLS PALSY! please 4give me, I am going to give a lot of dates but I want to provide an accurate timeline?

Bell Palsy
Jessi P

Tuesday May 27 I was diagnosed with Pharyngitis after I presented with a sore throat with a huge lump on my left side under my jaw bone. At the time I also had blurred vision in my right eye, left arm and facial twitches, and numbness of my tongue after talking for awhile. I was prescribed Azithromyacin, and told that the lump was “probably” pressing a facial nerve. About 3 days after taking the antibiotics, the left side of my tongue lost it’s sense of taste. Monday, 9 June, I woke up feeling like someone had punched me in my left eye, throbbing really bad. When I put on sunglasses it was a little better. 11 June my left eye burned all morning so again with the sunglasses. That afternoon I went into the bathroom to look at my eye to see if it was pink and that is when I noticed that it was not closing. This was the same day that I noticed I couldnt hold air in my cheeks or whistle or hold water in my mouth when I rinsed. Is this Bells Palsy or could it be something else?
Bells Palsy is only a guess for me because my aunt had it years and years ago. The docs never diagnosed me with it they said I had pharyngitis and an inner ear infection so they were no help but they were only er docs so…

The One-Minute Cure

what is BOTOX? how & why is it used when a blood vessel is impinging on a nerve? (not cosmetic but medical)?

suppose an artery is applying pressure on the facial nerve.. leading to Bell’s palsy, & this is detected on MRI;

why does the treatment involve injecting BOTOX near the zygomatico-temporal (upper face) area? what does botox actually do here? where exactly should it be injected?

What specifically can cause Bell’s Palsy? is there anything that can be done to speed up the recovery process?

Bell Palsy
Ember Halo

i read it can be permanent sometimes, is that only in certain specific situations (cutting of the facial nerve was included in the definition) or can it just come on randomly (due to inflammation) & be permanent?

could it be caused by pregnancy?
or a cold? or a combination?

can anything be done to speed up the recovery process, if you can’t get a steroid & antiviral injection? (rest, Tylenol, anything??)

thanks!!

Bell palsy is caused by the inflammation of facial nerve VII. What signs and symptoms would you expect with this condition? Is it permanant? what triggers the condition?

Thank you.
