Bell Palsy
tqty2001

The left side of my face is completely paralyzed. i can only talk out the side of my mouth. My left eye will NOT close. Wont even blink. I have EXTREME headaches around and or behind my left ear. Left side of my face droops. I can’t even lift my left eyebrow. Am i supposed to be takin some kind or any kind of anti-inflamatory or pain-killer? Do i need to get medical attention, like as im typing this?! Like, RIGHT NOW?! How long will this last? I am hearin anywhere between 1 – 3 months. This CAN’T be true. Im only 29. Does this happens to just anyone? If it does leave, will it return? need answers. thank you for your feedback.
i haven’t gone to a doctor. My moms is a registered nurse of 35 years. she gave me an idea of what it could be. she said she had it once b4. but back then they didnt do anything for her medically. *obviously this was some time ago* Lookin for feedback from someone who has actually gone through it. A doctor hasn’t diagnosed me. But my mother and I diagnosed me. Just wana know am i over -reactin on the “freakin out” part…*TQ*
u’re right tho J.B. thanks

Suggestions??? If you have had this diagnosed, I’m sure they gave you instructions on how to care for it. Read your instructions (if they were in printed form). Otherwise, research Bell’s Palsy on the internet or go to WebMd so you know how to take care of this. Getting opinoins from a forum like this will get you a lot of answers that are not medically advised.

I’ve had bells palsy. I was lucky and found a doctor who actually knew what it was. He told me it was an infection in the ear and/or blockage from wax. (I think it’s the ear on the opposite side of the paralysis). He flushed my ear and gave me antibiotics. So…go get your ears checked.

I have had bells palsy since the spring and I know what your feeling.

It is very painful and the side effects are hard to deal with. Since your eye is not closing you need to get you some artificial tears to rewet your eye with thru the day. There is also some ointment that you put into your eye at night but its hard to wear in the daytime because it distorts the vision and makes things blurry.

Steroids along with an antiviral drug called Acyclovir may help ease your symptoms. Something I have discovered is that vitamin b12 shots can help speed the healing time of the nerves involved with this as well.

85 to 90 percent of my facial movements came back in about a month. I have since stalled out so to speak. One eye appears slightly larger than the other if you look very close and my mouth still radiates slightly to the side, especially if I smile when speaking.

If your able see a doctor. They will give you something for the pain as well as the other things I mentioned that will help with healing.

Ive written an article that you might find helpful. Heres the link if you want to check it out to compare stories.
