Twiching Eye?

Bell Palsy
cool kitty :)

I had Bell’s Palsy on the left side of my face when I was 12 years old. I’m 18 now and for the past 3 years now my left eye will twich for a couple of days then stop for while, then it’ll start again. Now this is like nonstop twiching. It’ll do it for hours straight and it’s really annoying when i’m trying to read and watch t.v. Can the Bell’s Palsy be a cause for this?

Will it get better as it heals a little more? I am already almost 100% better, but these damn wrinkles are there…I’m only 24 and people think I’m much older……

I was just diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy. Can I still drink moderately in the evenings without hurting recovery

Bell Palsy

I am a 29 year old female and am being treated with Prednisone and an antiviral. I am very stressed out and do not want this to impact my social life. I have a bachelorette party to attend on saturday and want to make sure that having a few drinks won’t slow down my recovery time from this god awful condition. Any first hand experiences with drinking on Bell’s Palsy and will I still be ok? Help, this is new to me and I feel like I am completely in the dark.

Angina and Diet

My tongue is numb and there has been NO dental work done plus mulitple other symptoms can anyone help?

Well first off, about 5 days ago or longer, I had a partial sore throat that really hurt, and went away quickly. It came back a da later and went back away. Then I started have sever ear pain, then I had cloudy hearing and everything was kind of loud and at a distance. Then my jaw started hurting really bad, very little clicking or crunching, and sharp sporadic pains on my left side of my face. It made me dizzy, and overall not well. Now my tongue has been completely numb for two days and it sucks. I can’t taste food in my mouth, but I know it is there from pressure. It does hurt more to lay down. I was told that I had Bell’s Palsy, but do not believe that is the case. I show minor symptoms of that illness, and overall think it has to be something else. Has anyone ever experienced the same thing of something similar?

should i start my ‘maternity leave’ at my due date, even if the baby hasn’t come yet?

I’m trying to decide if i should go ahead & start my 12 weeks off at the end of this week–which is my due date. i had wanted to try & work up until delivery, but i’m feeling a bit worn out (have had a series of mild complications–Bell’s Palsy, bad pitting edema, pre-eclampsia scare). I will be induced at a week past my due date (at most) so i’d only have one week off before the baby would be here…

so, what would you do?
try & work the next two weeks (or up until labor) or take my leave at the end of this week (if she doesn’t come before her due date)??
yeah, i want to spend as much time with her, but at the same time, i don’t want to be totally worn out at delivery!

should i take the induction? should i push for it?

okay, so i’m 39 weeks, 1 day… i was having some signs of impending labor a week ago, but they’ve all stopped (since i got a pre-eclampsia scare–high BP, proteins, swelling for a couple days…) so i’m concerned that i’m not going to go into labor on my own in the next 6 days… and i’m exhausted! i’m recovering from Bell’s Palsy (compression of facial nerve causing paralysis) which sorta hurts as the nerve “reconnects”… i’ve got BAD pitting edema (my ankles & feet have been swollen HARD for months & feel bruised)… i’m anemic (prenatals aren’t helping that much, i’m fully drained)…

i’m thinking of taking off from work at the end of this week (my due date) but my midwife won’t usually induce until 41 weeks… if i haven’t deliveredy by then i will take it, but i was wondering… should i try & talk them into inducing me a little earlier?
i’m not officially “pre-eclampsic”… i’m just showing signs of developing it… (i’m pre- pre-eclampsic)
i’m on evening primrose oil & have been trying to do all the natural things to get things started (though i can’t manage to walk very long, i’m so tired!) but things seem to have stopped… it was looking good last week, then all the complications started showing up
oh, the baby is on the big side–already over 8 lbs they estimate…

but i’ve not had any internal exams done (due to GBS+), so i don’t know the condition of my cervix. i do know baby is head down & dropped, but she wasn’t fully engaged at the last appointment (almost a week ago)

Doxycycline.antidepressant?

Bell Palsy
managuense

I am on doxy 100mg 2x/day for Lyme disease. I am an extremely active 34 year old male, 190lbs. It is my understanding that this is a somewhat conservative dosage, i.e. this is not an aggressive dosage.

Is there any way that doxy can be acting as an antidepressant, where it “cures” my imaginary symptoms of Lyme? This is what my neurologist suggested. My symptoms in the past include positive blood test, Bell’s palsy, dilated pupils etc. Doxy always cures my symptoms short term, but they always return.

I find it absurd that my neuro is suggesting I drop the antibiotic regimen and pursue a psychological approach, i.e. true antidepressant.

Has anyone else been diagnosed wtih Bells Palsy in the last days of pregnancy?

Bell Palsy

Friday night my tongue had a burning/numbing feeling and my ears were really sensitive. The next morning I woke up and the left side of my face was numb and droopy. I went to the ER as advised by the on call dr from my obgyn’s office. They then diagnosed me with this bells palsy and prescribed me with valtrex and a eye moisturizer and I need to wear a patch over my left eye to reduced dryness. I researched online that it is fairly common in pregnant women within the last weeks/days of pregnancy. I am scheduled for a c-section this Tuesday and Im hoping after delivery it reduces. Has anyone else had this? How long did it last? How far along were you in your pregnancy?

Thanks!
I also have a very noticable lisp. How long does that part last? The ER dr said it varies person to person.
